DecaPrep Pivot

Hello all,

We have some news to share regarding the development of the DecaPrep project.

Our original technology was to provide a platform where coaches and students could upload their existing test documents and questions and create a digital experience where you could track individual an team performance.

As the year went on, we believed that we could add our own content - flashcards, test questions, etc. of our own.

Fortunately or unfortunately, one of the founders and the chief writer and editor of those materials has just been appointed as Pennsylvania State Director and needs to divest from the project, and is requiring us to go back to our original goal - development and optimization of the DecaPrep Trainer.

So, we are removing beta test access and making the Trainer alpha available for all to use, free of charge for now as we shift our strategy.

Thanks for those of you who were early believers and adopters. We hope to provide the best Acadec Training app there is!

DecaPrep Update 5/14/25 - Packet Eve!

We hope you’re excited about tomorrow’s curriculum reveal! We just put together a writing schedule for the summer to simultaneously work on basics as well as the theme-specific curriculum to hopefully have everything ready in a rolling release by the end of August.

If you sign up for the Beta Test, you’ll be able to see these documents updated in real time as we push edited versions to the Google Drive. Unlike other vendors, we will be using live, cloud based, read-only documents, so that if there’s a fix to be made, we won’t have to republish the files with a separate download. I know we’re used to final documents, but with curriculum changing on an annual basis, our writing experience in Decathlon tells us that errors will happen, they happen frequently, and the faster we can push changes, the better.

Once we are able to break down the outlines into chapters and chunks for our work, we’ll publish our writing roadmap here and through email. Looking forward to it!

DecaPrep Update 5/8/2025

Hello DecaPrep Beta Testers,

Now that Nationals is over, it’s time to look toward 2025-26 and The Roaring Twenties!

Our writing and programming roadmap will be set shortly, but we are going to begin to write materials in earnest, now that much of the writing team was competing and coaching in the National Finals.
